Hey, Joe, I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July. My family and I did. It was down by the River Walk and there was a Swing Band, it was glorious! I hope you have not been sick, haven't heard from you in a while or seen any comments posted. Everything okay? JeniE.

Hey Joe, Check out my poems I wrote about the Vietnam War. I would like your comments on them if you don't mind. They are written with Heart and in honor of all those who perished. Did you have a good father's day? We went to visit our daughter. Have a great weekend. JeniE.

Hey, Joe, this is Jeni from Florida. I don't know what a ping is but here goes. I would like to comment on your words about veteran treatment. Have you seen the news about Fort Bragg and the conditions of the living quarters that the men have to sleep in? I found it appauling but it does not shock me. They sleep under mold and breathe in this crap while congressmen sit on $4,000. toilet seats. I was always bothered by the treatment of the Vietnam vets and when the Gulf War came...well, you know what I am getting to. I have a dear friend who is a vietnam vet. He was spit on when he got off the plane after serving a tour. He rescued men from a hell hole. Even though it was such a long time ago...the Government did nothing to help these men get through the nightmares and horror they still endure having spent their time protecting those same people's rights. Oh, I am getting on my soap box...there are literally thousands and thousands of young people that still to this day do not know what it is to sacrifice anything much less giving up their game players or cell phones. We, as a nation, are so very blessed to live here. I thank God every day for my freedom and what it took. My father was a veteran. He served for over thirty years. I still have a copy of a commendation he and his crew recieved for sinking a German u-boat, signed by the secretart of the navy. One does not have to hold a gun to get respect or serve on foreign soil to be brave though. I look at all service members with respect whether they peel potatoes or drive an admiral to the officer's club. My son was in the army, and although he never had to fight he did go to Korea, he was ready. He served with pride. Well, I have filled your ear tonight. Have a good father's day. Jeni E.
